Summer Junior Promotions at Fredericksburg Judo Club
Congratulations to all of our kids for achieving their goals at our recent promotions! Charles, Sydney, Kaitlynn, Killian, Serena, Alexandria, Nicholas and Steven.

10th Annual World Masters Judo Championships - Belgium 2008
June 24th - 28th was a an exciting time for me as it was the first opportunity for me to compete at such a high level. It was the first tournament I have ever been in where there were 50 competitors in my weight class. I hope to have pictures posted shortly.

Class with Yasutaka Ohkawa Sensei (4th Dan)
On May 31 we had the distinct pleasure of having Yasutaka Ohkawa Sensei teach our Saturday afternoon class. Ohkawa Sensei is 4th Dan and comes from Tokai University in Japan where he was All Japan Collegiate Champion, currently in the US he is also the 2x US Open Champion and teaching Judo at Georgetown University in Washington DC. You may have also seen Ohkawa Sensei on the History Channel's Human Weapon episode on Judo. Where he sparred with the show's star and showed him the "Gentle" side of Judo! We would like to thank him and his uke for sharing his time with us and teaching us some of his favorite techniques.	More photos can be found in our Photo Gallery
