MY FIRST CLASS - WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT?
Classes start out with a fair amount of warming-up, this means some exercises and stretching.  The exercises and drills are designed to help children and adults improve their physical strength, flexibility, endurance and coordination.

Warm-ups are followed up by Judo specific coordination drills, that are made up of various tumbling exercises, rolls and what can only be described as crawling.  These drills are done to familiarize students with being on the mat and developing a comfort of being on the ground.

Finally, it wouldn't be Judo if there wasn't instruction on throwing and grappling techniques.  For teens and adults this includes various submissions from chokes and armbars.

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR IF I DON'T HAVE A UNIFORM?
We recommend wearing something comfortable for your first classes, such as sweatpants and sweatshirt.  Once you are convinced that you enjoy Judo and plan to continue with it you can invest in a Judo Gi (uniform), these typically cost $50 and up.
